i couldnt get into breaking bad, dunno why.

the wire was good because i dug the themes, it was a neat 'twist' on the usual cop-crime drama.

mad men is good because of the setting, total 'time and place' thing. they capture the period so so well, and it's fucking good.

mad men is like the first-wave of yuppie patrick batemans: the original ad men.

A chemistry teacher goes off the rails and starts cooking meth (or something) [drugs] and ends up in all sorts of difficulties (people get killed, problems with money). And his brother in law works for the police (or similar). Basically, without ruining too much of the plot.

It's pretty good.
