Flyers got Meszaros and O'Donnell to bolster their defense. But we signed Jody Shelley to 1.1 million per season for 3 years? He's old, can't score, and we have to remember the Broad Street Bullies fought their way to the cup in the 70s, today's game requires more finesse than in the 70s IMO. That is a waste of money. I'd rather bring up someone from the AHL or sign someone for the league minimum. Also, I wish we didn't resign Leighton. I can drive an 18-wheeler through that five-hole of his and he is not the answer to bringing that cup to Philly. We now have 3 signed goalies on our roster, but a deal could go down... I wouldn't mind trading Carter for Quick and Brown of the Kings, but Holmgren loves Jeff Carter too much. So far, an alright offseason for the Flyers.
Better than signing Derek Boogaard to a contract for like 1.75 mil per year.
