Hi, I have a small question.

For startes have been looking around, but couldn't find the answer. Also don't quite know what to search after.

Well the question is as following: In your stats you have different categories, vehicles, weapons, kits etc.
Each with the numbers, representing Kills and Death. This is mighting fine, but how am I to understand the "Death"? Is it death by or dead while?
An example would be, if I have 1000 death as medic, would that mean I died 1000 times as a medic, or 1000 death were from medics? The same with vehicles.
Weapons are of course killed by (self explanatory).

Hope someone will answer me, and on beforehand thanks! (if beforcehand even is a word, if not then inserd "in advance" :-D )

I'm don't think thats right, I'm pretty sure their 'killed while holding that weapon'. I had the same question a while ago and found an old thread explaining just that.

You are correct.

yeah for example if you are holding an assault rifle and you get bombed by a su34, you get a death in Assault rifle section

Which is retarded IMO, but that's how the stats come from EA.

Your Kill to Death Ratio for X is a measure of how effective you are with that kit, vehicle, or equipment. For your K/D ratio while driving armor to mean something, it needs to be the number of kills you made while driving armor versus the number of times you were killed while driving armor.

The total number of times you were killed by a tank, medic, or assault rifle might be interesting information, but it clearly isn't much of an indication of how effective you are in a particular role.

Given that EA can't track everything, it seems to me that they made an intelligent choice.

Thanks for all the feedback :-)

Vic42 your explanation makes sense, but wouldn't you agree that the stat "how often you where killed while holding this weapon" is retarded?
Your effeciency have already been measure with the stat "how often you where killed while this kit".
Else you could say. "Hey, I need better stats and I can see I die alot while holding the assault rifle. Better switch to pistol and start pwning their a$$'es"

I think that stat choise is retarded to be honest.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, perhaps, but it is (at the least) consistent, which I can appreciate.

But you are right, it is contrary to almost every other stats system wherein under "weapons" it is "deaths by" not "deaths while using".

Im not interested in how many times I have been killed by assault rifles for example, what I want to know is how many times I’ve been killed while using an assault rifle, that way I can calculate an accurate kill to death ratio based on my performance using an assault rifle.
I don’t know why people think its strange, if I was responsible for the stats system this is exactly how I would have written it.

Well, personally, I don't care for example how many times I was shot while trying to knife someone. I'd rather see how many times I was knifed.

I guess the best thing to do would be to have both.

Kobrakai to restate my point. The measurement has already been made with the kit´s stats.
It´s not like you can say, "hey, I want to play a medic with a antitank weapon!", the kits have locked the weapon types to them (the only exeption i can think of is the antitank kit). So this is indeed useless.
Or do you look at your stats and say "Oh no, I die very little whilest holding the granades. I should pull them out when the enemies storm my position, making me more likely to survive"?

Well, whatever, I guess the "help" part of this topic has been resolved. You wanna continue this debate somewhere else ?
