Don't even see it happening here on earth, but how would they go about it once we colonize mars? Or just somewhat closer, the moon. Will we make 'countries' there too? Will we establish borders there too? Food for thought.

Also, sovereignty is the only guarantee of civil liberties.  Without a strong government to protect your rights, life becomes a simple Darwinian affair of whoever has the most resources and weapons.
