Yes. Thought of any ideas yet, or should I go again?

Fix'd. Let's say... it's not a variant of the F-18. However, it is related to the F-18, they are very closely related.steelie34 wrote:

HINT: It's a prototype

Yes, your turn.
Yes... but you were pretty right, because the YF-17 became the F-18.steelie34 wrote:
well, the f-17 was the prototype for the f18.... but i guess it's its own plane

While we're on the topic of prototypes
That looks like an F-16 with dual exhausts, twin tails, and canard foreplanes. Kinda looks like a su-30 too. Hmmm, what is it? Time to think. It's Japanese, I know that...

Hint: Japanese prototype, never completely produced, dropped in favor of the eventual F-2pace51 wrote:

I know Japan was pressured to use the F-16 as a basis for their design. That fighter above can't be the mitsubishi F-1, though... grrr. Thinking caps. I know this, I read it somewhere...
Congratulations RDX, I think you've officially stalled this thread.
Gimme some time! But yes, RDX, karmax for the win pic.User007Gamer wrote:

Spoiler (highlight to read):
FSX program prototype deadend, abandoned on the way to what became the F-2
okay, how about this one instead;

Writing on the nose looks like "21-74"
Hints:
Here's one in better shape, from a different view

Writing on the nose looks like "21-74"
Hints:
- Writing on the nose is Arabic for "21-74"
- Is a "UM" variant, in rather poor shape
- 'Blisters' on the side, offset pitot tube on top nose, and rear seat periscope mechanism partially visible - definitely a "UM"
- Made in Tbilisi
