ok i was in a server, it was the (TNT)Citymaps blowout server, and i was playing having some fun, when (TNT)omega joined the server, so he spawned and then he starts jumping around and doing some bunny hopping nade whore sh_t so i commented on it and sayed that it was pretty pus_y of him to be doing that crap, so after the conversation and the round ends, he leaves doesnt come back and when i leave the server about 10 minutes later i seem to not be able to join any EA US Official servers?!

so then i get the first message trying to join, "Cant Connect to Server", so i try again..."CD Key invalid", i was like WTF!! and i left the game to go on EAGAMES.com to maybe see what was wrong, and when i leave the game my computer goes blank and it comes back on with a blue screen that says "missing windows/------ file.

so i finnaly just give up trying to fix my problem and reinstalled windows XP. but it wouldnt let me install the disk to get internet drivers, etc. but when i tried to reinstall it again my computer went wack! and my harddrive just blewup.

Can some1 PLZ help me, could i have been hacked by that jerk from the server??????
what can i do about this?

I suppose it's possible, anything that's open to the world and connected 24/7 is 'hackable'. But it could also be coincidence, a glitch, a dump that caused an overflow that crashed the system. If it was the (TNT)man, he'd have been pretty quick off the mark to be able to get details that are supposed to be 'autonomous', otherwise, hackers would be hacking everyone. Even playing with a firewall on doesn't mean you're immune

The techs here would be able to clue you in much better than me, but I think maybe, just maybe, a coincidence

I would have to agree with thinner....

It is pretty unlikely and the fact that you are saying the HDD in your machine has "blown up" would indicate to me some sort of hardware failure.

In general games have a nasty habbit of working disks really hard and if there a microscopic problems developing with the disk a good couple of hours thrasing in BF2 will make them worse quickly....

I would guess that if you had just left your PC on for a couple of days and didn't play BF2 you may have started to see some "strange" behaviour developing anyway.

buy a new hard drive you can get a good one for $100....sounds like your hard drive just corrupted i doubt you were hacked...all hardware has the potentiall to just "die" so your probably just unlucky

Yes, I don't think you've been hacked, and especially not by that (TNT) guy. But it's hard to tell from here what your problem is...

Shoulda run chkdisk on startup, prolly would have fixed it.

...Even though I have seen a hacked machine real time having its files deleted.  Basically when they try to delete everything that they can (exclude files in use) then what happens is whatever you have open at the time stays but it starts to display some very wacky behavior.

Then once you exit the application(s) you will see that windows itself is missing almost all its components/features.  Then if you reboot your system files will be gone and you'll basically get the blue screen.

Not that I think this is what happened to you as HD crashing is much more common....But the experience is similar.

I would say that you PC hard drive was already dying, it probably started with files in your BF2 directory..
Then windows files died, then it just blew up... replace, reinstall and it should be fine...

I was in a server where this guy was throwing his packs of C4 like footballs. And it wasnt where you run, jump and it goes further, this C4 went an extraordinary distance.

my harddrive went down not too long ago, and it gave me all kinds of crazy messages and errors as it was dying, im guessing that's all it was

actually this is funny
this happened to me as well.
Got a blue screen after i quit the game, and on the restart my comp would boot to a blank black screen.
My harddrive didn't die on me though.
Just reformatted no problems so far.
This happened about a month after the release of the game.

Buy a cheap IDE drive with enough space on it to install Windows XP. Install, take the hard drive out, then stick it in a static bag and put that somewhere safe. Run scandisk/chkdsk once a week, and defrag once a month. Run antiviral and antispyware software once a week, and a reputable registry cleaner once a month. Turn off all active software scanners while playing an online game, if you want less of a crashy performance.

If, despite all of these preventative measures, your hard drive seems to be quite busted, you can turn your computer off, hook up your stored "nurse drive," and boot from it and perform any diagnostics you want on your "broken" hard drive. In some cases, if all else fails, you can just overwrite the data on the busted drive with the data on a nurse drive, using an app such as WD's Data Lifeguard. If that fails, you've really got a busted drive on your hands, and should consider activating its warranty with an RMA.

Since I'm running a 6800 Ultra and a SATA 10K drive, I seem to be more prone to random crashes and blue screens (despite cooling measures taken) than I was with slower, more stable systems. I've learned to live with it, as it only happens at odd intervals. Otherwise, everything runs as smooth as butter.
