IMO this is another example of how, just like Adolph Hitler, Obama and the industrial complex are duplicitous in the rape and plunder of the world.
That's what this slush fund basically is.
Exxon fucks up - They don't have to pay.
Goldman Sachs fuck up - They get billions from the government.
BP fucks up - They pay billions to the goverment.
Government fucks up - Iraq gets bombed and the taxpayer pays billions to military contractors.
Then again, I'm not necessarily against letting BP off the hook either. The public often does some interesting things when it feels it needs to enact vengeance.
I don't know. Maybe the problem is that there is nothing transparent about government to begin with.
