Well just talked to a FL State Trooper.  As he can remember going through the academy they didn't teach strikes, but they can do whatever to defend themselves (match force).  He said they learn more take down and restraint moves.  He said it took the officer way too long to subdue the first girl and he mentioned the taser and mace as what he probably would have done.  He also said, as long as you comply with what an officer is asking you to do -there won't be a problem.

short-sightedness is what you see. the cops will lose in the eyes of the community they serve if the community believes their local law enforcement are abusive. he was in a tough situation with no assistance from his fellow police or decent citizens. The facts will not mean much to these people (non-racial remark) it is their bias opinion he assaulted a 17yr old girl. You are right it does not mean much to me....I see it, you see it, the cop was within his right to get the situation under control, but his community may not see it that way.

At this point, we have to wait and see if the community leaders support the officer or the girl. The police investigation so far said, the officer has done nothing wrong.
