Oh yeah...I forgot to mention the 13% tax and electronic disposal fee. Fucking government.
Complaining about something like that it like complaing about having to buy a toilet, sure you could save the money and just shit in your garden, but after a few years you'll be standing in shit to your knees..ebug9 wrote:

Or you could just have recycling centres that you take this stuff to for free (on a domestic scale) - like everywhere else does.FloppY_ wrote:

This...we pay a certain fee depending on the type of electronic device we buy. That fee goes towards funding the proper disposal of it when we decide to get rid of it.Bertster7 wrote:

And who do you think pays for these "free" recycling centres?Bertster7 wrote:

Exactly, that precise fee he was talking about

Blanket taxation, as opposed to targeted taxation. But enough of this - it's not DAST....FloppY_ wrote:

copied from the 'respond by picture thread' for great justice
What's a good, simple, small backup program? I just want to have it automatically make copies of certain folders onto one of my drives every so often.
.bat file run as a scheduled task
Here's one that I used to use:
Replace "G:\Backup" with your drive/folder.
The command should read %backupcmd% <start folder> <destination folder> (use quotes if the path has any spaces in it)
The xcopy command with those options will only backup the information that has changed since the last backup.
Here's one that I used to use:
Code:
@echo off ::variables set drive=G:\Backup set backupcmd=xcopy /s /c /d /h /i /r /y echo ### Backing up My Pictures... %backupcmd% "E:\Pictures" "%drive%\Pictures" echo ### Backing up Games... %backupcmd% "E:\My Documents\Downloads\Games" "%drive%\Games" echo ### Backing up Music... %backupcmd% "E:\My Documents\Downloads\Music" "%drive%\Music" echo ### Backing up Programs ... %backupcmd% "E:\My Documents\Downloads\Programs" "%drive%\Programs" echo ### Backing up Movies... %backupcmd% "E:\My Documents\Downloads\Video" "%drive%\Video" echo Backup Complete! @pause
The command should read %backupcmd% <start folder> <destination folder> (use quotes if the path has any spaces in it)
The xcopy command with those options will only backup the information that has changed since the last backup.

Used to use? What's wrong with it!?
Thanks! Exactly what I needed; scheduled task, simple, only backs up info that's changed. Perfect.

I reformatted. Re-organized my drives so all my downloads go to my TB drive. I should probably buy another couple drives and RAID1 them just to be safe but I'm brokemtb0minime wrote:

What's wrong with "You suck. I'm going. Bye." ?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

So MS Office 2010 went live worldwide today.
Might grab the free trial and see if there's anything worthwhile.

I wouldn't waste your time mate, it's not really that much different to 2007, we've had the retail version for a month or so at work already. Office live is kinda interesting though.liquidat0r wrote:
