When I hover over one of the icons in my taskbar, the white highlight appears and wont go away (until I mouse over another icon, in which case it sticks on that one).

There's also a ~2 second delay from the time I hover my mouse over an icon to when the shortcut name appears. The name stays for another 2 seconds or so before disappearing.

Is this Windows 7 just being Windows 7 or is it abnormal behaviour?

Erm, 2 sec delay when moving AWAY is not normal... My 7 Home starts fading as soon as the cursor leaves the icon..

true dat. For me it shows up almost instantaneously and starts fading away as soon as I move my mouse.

So ebug its definitely abnormal behaviour since I doubt there is an actual setting for it

Some problems go away by them selves.

Mine does this too. Stays there untill I mouse over it again, kind of annoying. Legal copy

You guys are not using the "hover to select - single click to open" setting right?

It explains how to change the amount of time needed for a popup to appear. Im guessing its also the same time needed for a popup to dissapear.

edit: just checked my registry and its set to 400. You both should have it at more than 1500 if its taking so long.

My Win7Pro is from MSDNAA too and I'm having no problems, did you do all the above?

if you did and it didn't help then try running a "repair" by mounting/inserting the iso
