You are one hell of a beauty.
that is the cleanest most unused OTV and kevlar I have seen. Dont go out to the field much huh. And if your shooting live rounds you better take off those blank adaptersT4rd wrote:

I'm the one on the right.. with the M249 SAW
This was at a live-fire exercise somewhere in South Korea (forgot where it was exactly). It was in Feb 2006.

LOL i was wondering if anyone else saw that too
At-ease, fool. We had just got those new Kevlars like a week before that, the first time I had wore them. We go to the feild every month.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

If you go to live-fire exercises at all, I think you'd know that you got through them three times; dry run, blank run, then you get the live rounds. I put 800 LIVE rounds through that thing that day. I had to change out the barrel mid-way through.

i have a pic on my myspace
not gonna directly put it in the forum. I am only 16 and putting more pics on the web isnt a good idea generally, even though i trust the bf2s community.
Citizen One is Hot!! And rage against the machine is a good band.

was that a live fire excercise because to me that looks like a qualifaction range, but then again ive never been to korea. I can tell you arent combat arms though so you know very well that was probably the last time you touched that saw in a while.T4rd wrote:

Also if you gotta change out the barrel after only 800 rounds that tells me either you are using an old peice of shit or you dont know how to fire a saw therefore you let the barrel melt. You could shoot alot more than 800 rounds out of a saw without switching out the barrels. Ive shot thouasand upon thousand of live and actual rounds when i was a SAW gunner and I NEVER had to switch out a barrel unless they made us and that was almost never. CIB wearing mofo over here, I know my ordinance

Yeah, all of our ranges are really small, there's not much room here in Korea for us to move around in because of all of the ROKs (Republic of Korea) restrictions.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

I carry the SAW every month when we go to the field cuz me and the other guy in the pic are the only qualified SAW gunners in the company. And yes, our SAWs are shit cuz they're old as hell and the barrels are wore the fuck out, haha. I cant help it that our battalion is poor as shit and cant replace it cuz something breaks on it every other month, lol. You're right too, I'm not combat arms, I'm signal (25B: Informations Systems Operator/Specialist) cuz I was smart enough on the ASVAB to have a choice in any MOS. But I pretty much will be here soon as my next station is Benning, I will be there in 3 months. I guess I'll go ahead and go to Airborne school while I'm there and I know it'l be easy. I run a 11:30/2mile and that's mostly of what that school consists of; running. But I'm not trying to sound all "gung-ho." I'm sure I'll get my time in the sand-box as you have. So dont worry.. everyone's gonna get their turn playing soldier over there.

one thing the saw is notorious for is the amount of maintenance thats required to keep her running. Ive seen broke down saw that just jetison the barrel whenever you put a round through, the primer barely getting touched.
