Good lord.  OK, so if you wanted to use primates in place of mice for research, the costs would probably be 100-1000x greater for just the animals.  Of course, primate supply is limited, so you wouldn't be able to waste as many as you can with mice.  That was the point.

And read about the true distribution of expenditure in pharmaceutical companies.  R&D is not at the top...not by a long shot.

Wasn't disagreeing with using mice before primates. Just pointing out the "crushing" costs that are already absorbed.

And I know that marketing is the number one cost. Drug reps make a killing, and their EVERYWHERE.
