Local field is charging me the $10 entry fee now, even if I'm just taking pics.

Hoping to get a job soon (well...less hoping and more doing), so I should be going down there more often.

Yup. All these pics were taken at NSPB, except for the bottom one. That was at...um...Panther? I'm pretty sure it was Panther Paintball..

But yeah...owner's known to be rather greedy.

Should let me know if you plan on going though.
When I go, it's always on a Sunday.

Depends on the application... if they were going on, maybe a webpage with a small textured background, could be useful. If they're going to be printed, borders are great.

Yeah, anyone who steps onto the field has to pay the fee.
(Except for the refs, I assume..)

I've inspired several others to join me in my paparazzi tactics (as a friend of mine calls it), so maybe the owner was afraid that too many people would be getting onto the field free..
..or maybe he thought people would use the photography excuse to get in free, then start playing.

Not quite sure...I'll ask him next time.

I don't go much, and don't have kit, but if I find myself not-broke on a friday/saturday, I'll PM you.
(Not broke a couple days before so I can make arrangements and have money day of)

Do you get shot at?
Are you still part of a team and carry a gun, or are you more like a ref?
Do people ever get pissed for you being in their face while they're trying to shoot, or for giving away their position?
Do you use any cover/protection for your camera, or do you just hope no one hits it?

(sorry for all the questions, but I'm going to a big scenario game this weekend and I want to take some pics in game)

Sometimes. In recball it doesn't happen to often. Happens a lot more in scenario games with prizes involved though.

Neither, although I can still paint-check. Usually I do stick with one team, and move from cover to cover with certain players, but if I get hit I just stay in. Getting ref-"powers" depends on the field.

Not really. Often I'm right under them as they shoot over me (2nd from last picture), and I've never gotten any complaints from that. If I'm behind cover with someone, I'll keep watching them to see where they look. If I get the feeling they want to move to the right side of cover and I'm in their way, I'll back off a bit to let them pass, then go to the left of them.

I hope no one hits it. I've taken one paintball directly to the lens, and another to the body, but it keeps on truckin'. <3 Nikon.
I will try to protect my camera though. If I get caught in a hail of paint, I'll turn my back to it to shield my camera with my back. Or if I'm standing around waiting for something to happen, while facing potential trigger happy players, I'll drop the camera sling off one shoulder (so it's like a laptop bag) and swing it behind my back.

Just bring a decent sized microfiber cloth. That's how I got most of the paint off.

Then I used a little bit of paper to clear out the paint between the different lens parts.
