We had ABCD, D being fail. Before that was Extending, Applying, Consolidating, Developing, and Working at a Prior Level. Basically ABCDE, but with different titles. When I tell my dad I got E's, he thought I had failed and went on a rant. Took quite a bit of explaining numerous times but in the end they changed it.
