what hassle?  there are gas stations all over the place.  its actually a hassle to go to this BP (traffic).
Guess that means wawa is out as well. Many unbranded stations get their gas from BP.

Most petrol stations in this country are supermarket petrol stations, prove me wrong Brits. Unless the supermarkets are tied to the big oil companies and they just brand them as their own. Which surely must be the case.

It's rare to see BP/Shell etc.. branded petrol stations (though they do exist cos I've seen them around)

There are no 'good' oil companies. BP just fucked up more obviously than the others.

Well if you went to bp before it must have been for some reason, ie price.

But they (and other companies involved) were doing alot of stupid stuff and skimping in the name of profit, if they had just spent some extra cash on bringing things up to scratch it wouldn't have been as bad. It's worse because these guys have some massive profit margins that it's small change for them to do most things.
Finally got around to this topic, just what exactly do you know they were doing that was "stupid" and "in the name of profit"?
Come on, there's so many articles talking about this, what BP did wrong and how it could have been prevented. This story has gone on for a long time now, I can't be arsed trawling through loads of articles, andI'm not gonna sit here and spoonfeed it to you. Anyone that was interested in it would have known already.
And now I just randomly stumbled across this article today without even trying

I'm sure there were mistakes made for something massive like this to actually happen. I'm just sick of all the people who are acting like the company conspired to make everything as cheap as possible as though no one working for them has a conscience in a situation where it is extremely risky to consider cutting corners because they are the big target in the public eye ("Oh no, evil corporations!"). That's not to mention those folks who are expecting a quick fix to something broken on the sea floor.

Look at the video stream now, it's worse than it ever was before. I guess top kill failed, that's what most news are saying

I think it's working, but they're only siphoning off about 1000 barrels (out of 12,000-19,000) and that's about as good as it'll get until they finish the relief wells. That's why this was the last resort I guess, cos it's shit. They cut the riser and I bet that action alone increased the flow by about 1000 barrels or more so this was all just for PR so it looks like they're doing something.

And the BOP could still explode after being gnawed away by the high pressure and make things a thousand times worse if it felt like it....I'll be impressed if it the BOP and this cap can last until August under all that pressure flowing

never buying british petroleum products again.  they showed some workers who were there to clean up the beaches.....taking two hour lunches and barely working.  good job BP.  nice oversight obama.

This thing has been seriously mishandled.

Forgetting the blowout in the first place, they could have done very much more to protect the coastline - BP and Obama.

You will still use oil. And you really can't control who pumped out the oil when you go to the gas station. BP gets gas from Exxon, Exxon gets gas from BP. All gas stations have the same gas.

Probably want to stop flying, taking the bus, using plastic and the billions of other things their products are used for the. And in all fairness to the workers, it's pretty much a never ending task until the leak is stopped.
