You have only used two words and question marks.  At the moment I dont get your point.  I'll guess and say your making out I should speak Welsh, or your suprised I dont.  I spent longer learning German than I did Welsh.

When I was a lad (and all that) it wasnt hammered into you like it is now.  My Daughter only started learning English 2 years ago at the age of 7.  Other than that it was Welsh from 3-7

Where Surg comes from (north Wales) its really encouraged to speak it.  Only last week on TV this ugly bird was on about in her village 70% of the community MUST speak the lingo.  Its so differnt down here.  However, over the last 15 years or so the Welsh Govt have chucked loads of money in trying to get more people to speak it.  And you see that now.  I dont like it though and take offence just as much as I do in the local Pakistani corner shop.  They are talking English, you walk in and 'la la lalala hala hala' kicks off.

Mollie will come out of school tri-lingual.  Welsh, English and French/German.
