You guys always miss the point. So here it is again.

On his first day (if he ever bought it) he will definately not roll out the throttle, hit 150mph and rear end a pickup truck.

It is possible that while sitting at a light he gets hit and dies, and he has no better chance of surviving that on an even smaller bike. But hey thats life if your not in a car and you get hit by another driver your toast. No doubt about that.

A 250cc motorcycle is NOT that dangerous because it takes a while to build up speed. A R1 is dangerous because it takes no time to build up speed and you can find yourself in a situation you cant control (Like brick wall coming up in 300 feet, and at your current speed it will take 500 feet to stop.



When talking to people thinking about getting a motorcycle they always want a sport bike. I always try to push the point of staying within your limits, and learning on a smaller engine.


Buy a 1000 as your first bike, youll probably kill yourself. Unless your a fucking monk, but that throttle is usually irresistible on an open road.

Buy a 600 as your first bike, you may kill yourself if your an idiot.

Buy a 250 as your first bike, your pretty safe. Unless you get hit. Then your fucked.







But lol I can't believe the OP didn't get it.

Like I said dude craigslist, buy used. Start with 2c 750 of something to get yourself used to being on a motorcycle in traffic. Then if you still want a sport bike a year later get a 600 or a 750 they go fast enough and then some.
