i have tested this several times and i know the f35 is the only jet that cannot evade a missile lock. every jet including the fighter-bombers has some chance of evading air-to-air heatseaking missiles. be the mig which evades about 1/2 or the eurofighter which evades about 99% of all air-to-air. it is really disheartening on maps like wake or dalian plant where the f35 has to go up against the j10 and are hopelessly outclassed.
and for somereason the f35 is the jet with the highest top speed (try taking it to 800m alt and hitting your burners) the f35 should actually be one of the slower jets, alteast according to wikipedia.com
i know any experienced bf2 airplane pilot knows what i mean. hope ppl agree with me and hope even more that ea/dice do something about it.
(edit 5/01) i would also like to remind everyone that ground fired anti-air missiles are different than air-to-air missiles. i dont think any jet can evade ground fired AA missiles unless they use flares. i think EA did this as a balancing issue so that jets are flying gods anymore and i agree with that.
what i am talking about is mainly the air-to-air capabilities of jets. a think one thing everyone needs to do is to take a jet from 10m alt and do a vertical loop at full throttle without afterburners. you will find that the f35 reaches the highest altitude meaning it has the largest turning radius. and THAT means it is the only jet that cannot out turn an air to air missile. i think EA/dice would have to change the flying characteristics of the f35 to actually balance it which i think might be harder to program than changing the missiles.
