Your edit is correct. Every opinion pole I've seen has more than two-thirds in favor of Arizonia enforing existing Federal Laws.rawls2 wrote:
Arizona will suffer for this. It already is. Commerce will suffer and then they'll repeal the law. The truth is, I bet, that the majority of Americans are on the immigrants side. Arizona will end up looking like they did when they were finally forced to recognize a MLK holiday.
edit: Actually looks like the majority do approve of the bill. But still the ones that don't will over power those that do.
If people reaized how much of their taxes go to fund illegals probably more people would be for this.
Well, if they think that's bad, they should try immigrating to most of Europe.ruisleipa wrote:

I did, and I have no problem with it now.Deadmonkiefart wrote:
Read the bill. It's only 16 pages. It specifically prohibits racial profiling, and it is already federal law that they can check your papers.lowing wrote:
I agree, but man, there are millions of American citizens and legal immigrants that fit the profiling used to enforce this bill. I do not see any way around that. and the visons of a police state checking papers of people on the streets is not an attractive one.west-phoenix-az wrote:

Pretty much... but that's exactly why we need stricter immigration controls.Cybargs wrote:

Granted, that will never happen -- plus, it's almost impossible to implement with a country as large as ours.
Seattle police preview future Arizona cop arrests.

The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
That happened in Washington State where the Arizona law isn't in affect yet. I mean you want to also put Rodney King video up here too? I don't think it matters what race there is, unfortunately there are bad apples in the police force and they'll do stupid shit like this.
Police brutality is wrong no matter who it's against.
I wonder though that Illegals will more likely run away from police once the law is in effect because now they might get deported instead of let go.
So does anyone really think if someone commits a crime and doesn't show ID that they should be let go as it it never happened?
So an illegal could speed on the road and not be accountable like you or me?
So an illegal could steal something from a store and not be accountable like your or me?
Why the protected status? Why should illegals have more rights than us Americans?

It doesn't matter when the Seattle event happened.
my point is that the same scene is going to be repeated in Arizona in the near future, unless the courts rule against it.

Speaking of profiling, the anti-Arizona immigration law people have basically profiled cops as dumb and racist.

Haven't read the entire thread but, has anyone here that is screaming racism, and boycotting AZ admitted that they understand that this law is already a federal law.
This means that not one more piece of ID is required to be carried than federal law already demands, and the cops are required to investigate suspected criminal activity, and as we all know boys and girls entering a country ( any country) is a criminal act. this means if you do not have any ID on when you are pulled over or for any unrelated incident, there is reasonable suspecion to investigate further. No big deal. Not racism aNnd no reason to boycott AZ any more than you would boycott the USA.

The irony of it is, over 1/3 of the Arizona's population consider themselves "Latino". A huge percentage of the police force is Latino.Kmarion wrote:
