do not i repeat do not download a mod for singleplayer 64 maps because you cant play online then any more!
INCORRECT. You can download or create a mod as long as you don't alter the core BF2 mod files/folders.
You can play 16, 32, or 64 player map sizes in Single-Player or Co-op on your computer.
Here is how you do it.
1. Create a new mod folder called whatever you want
For example:
...\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\BF2SP
2. Copy the CONTENTS of the BF2 mod into the new BF2SP mod folder.
3. Create shortcut on your desktop pointing to the new BF2SP mod.
NOTE: I recommend copying the existing Battlefield 2 shortcut and paste it to your desktop.
Then right click the new shortcut and rename it to whatever you want.
Then right click the new shortcut again, choose Properties, and change the Target line to point to the new BF2SP mod.
For example:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/BF2SP
4. Then download the xstax981's latest SP/Co-op map pack
http://files.filefront.com/Bf2SP64_Late … einfo.html5. Unzip the file and copy the info folder and server.zip file for each map into the specific BF2SP map folder:
For example:
...\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\BF2SP\Levels\Strike_at_Karkand
6. Launch game using your new shortcut and enjoy!

Since you are creating a new mod and never touching the core BF2 mod it will NOT affect your online play.
