What you should do is go in game, grab the main text (the being in this case 'you killed') and write it down EXACTLY.
then search in notepad in english.utxt for it

You cannot copyright ideas; it is the expression of an idea which is covered under copyright. As such, your tutorials are only protected under copyright if they are copied word-for-word. You want to protect the ideas in your tutorials, go apply for a patent. I'm sure EA will have something to say about prior art.SaladFork wrote:

as I wrote earlier, I tried that and it worked fine for me. For any reason now I got the same message with #PLAYERNAME#. even with §0#PLAYERNAME#§1 its still not working. maybe a serverside option, but I got some doubts about that.MasterNe0 wrote:

Anyone know how to make it to show who punish u and vs versa.
Did it work in single player but not multiplayer? That would make sense as the variables would be held locally on your machine. For network play, it wouldn't make sense for the Dice programmers to expose variables like that on purpose - I.e. everytime someone died they would have to send in the packet additional info saying who punished, not just that you got punished. But because BF2 doesn't already display who punished you, it would make no sense for the programmers to send that kind of additional info along with it for no purpose but using more bandwidth.xaven wrote:

So for example, if I shoot Player with an M16A2 it should say:You killed #PLAYERNAME# with a #WEAPON
But instead, it saysYou killed player with a M16A2
Any advice? Or you just can't do it?You killed Player with a #WEAPON#

No, it doesn't work.Spark wrote:

No, because the variable "#WEAPON#" is not enabled on the line that reads 'you killed', there is no global for that becuase there is a vast variable count for weapons. But i think i may have found out a way so that at the end when it says "Blah blah team has won" to say like "Your wins: ### Your Loses: ###" I'll try it out tonight and reposrt back!Spark wrote:

The guide on TBF2 is a sticky thread in the main discussion forum since Nov. with almost 50k views. If you've been there and have not seen it, or the many other threads reguarding custom localization files...I am very surprised. It would have saved your self alot of "experimenting and research" as you call it. All the questions being asked here have been asked and answered in the original tut:LOSER|Tearsofromance wrote:

Totally agree, its a Tutorial. Everyone needs to get over them selves.LOSER|Tearsofromance wrote:
Ugh, not even gunna read your post. My tut, took absolutely nothing from anyone else, someone else made one long ago, congratulatiions. I only asked for credit if Clan's used this tutorial on their site, thats it, i don't give two shits about people using the tut if they credit me or not (would be stupid to credit me for that becuase you did the work, i just showed you how) dont like it? then shut it and get lost. I stole nothing, and don't even think of accusing me of such disgusting acts.
Thanks.
The pleasure was all mine Thanks, and glad you enjoy itmajorassult wrote:
