Englands Squad
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green; Defenders: Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock; Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips; Forwards: Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney.
Provisional Squad that is.
Leighton Baines, great player.
Gary Neville - Left out.
Theo Walcott - Silly first name but still going, very interesting.

I would've included Wes Brown over Carragher, Upson shouldn't be in there, neither should Warnock, Heskey's time is over how can you realistically play him infront of Bent, Crouch or Defoe when he can't get in the starting lineup at Villa. Parker is a good inclusion though, he's been the reason West Ham are still up. Hargreaves I can kind of see why he's been left out, however he's been Englands player of the tournament for the last two major tournies and he'll be fitter than Barry when it kicks off.
Only thing I would change is Heskey, get Zamora in instead.
Other than that, bend over world, your gonna get raped

Thank fuck Valdes and Pedro got announced in the preliminary squad, they deserve to be in the final 23. No doubt.
I haven't seen Reina, Valdes or Casillas in action lately so can't compare the three, is Casillas still #1 then Reina then Valdes?
Yeah, it's a joke tbh... From both the Clasico games, Valdes outperformed Casillas and has a coefficient of 0.62 when Casillas has one of 0.92...The Sheriff wrote:

Reina isn't even very good, especially in comparison to Valdes. I have no idea why he's still number two. In my opinion it should be Casillas, closely followed (i.e gets on at least once and is allowed to play important games) by Valdes and then it should either be Degea or Diego Lopez. Not Reina.
Glad Joey Cole got in....even if he hasn' played many games, England don't have anyone else that can beat players with pure skill like he can.

It wouldn't make sense if Hargreaves gets in the squad, something like he's played a whole minute of first team football this season
ffs just typed out a big post then pressed the back button on my mouseMekstizzle wrote:

It was along the lines of he's performed better than Lampard, Gerrard, Carrick, Barry etc have in an England shirt and is an excellent holding midfielder, he's amazing at freekicks too. He is better than Barry and Carrick by far, playing him as a holding midfielder and Rooney on his own upfront would be Englands best formation imo, forget Heskey, and Capello could always bring off Hargreaves and put Crouch on if they're struggling to score.
Hargreaves will be as fit as Ashley Cole and a lot fitter than Barry when it comes to the tournament.
so far (full squad):1927 wrote:

Spurs have the most players in the England squad, therefore we are the best English team in the premier league!
