The US didn't steal it.  In fact, the American settlers who moved to Texas were aiding a rebellion of Mexican citizens.

Mexico has a long history of governmental instability, and at the time of this war, several coups had occurred.  By the time Santa Anna rose to power, he behaved as a dictator.

Unfortunately, most Mexican activists don't seem to have a working knowledge of their own history.

Not exactly. It's how people will view it no matter what. AS Turquoise said, California, New Mexico, Arizona and a lot of border states were ceded to the US after the Mexican-American war. And shit California is a lot better under US jurisdiction than Mexican. If Mexicans ran Cali it'd be worst of a shithole than it already is.

We're not.  Look, I admit that we were agitators against the Mexican government, and we did have ulterior motives.  My link even points that out with some of the discussions our high officials had at the prospect of annexing Texas.  However, unlike the rewriting the Mexican activists are attempting, it's clear that the Mexican government was even more corrupt than ours.

Had the Mexican government been one that was stable and fairer to its people, there would likely have not been a war between us.  That's something that the activists need to acknowledge.

Lets not get into a discussion about who was more corrupt.
A war was fought, the US took California, the Mexicans are still pissed.

I would love to see what would happen when the Aborigines ask for a major city back.

The only reason they gave back the Mining areas, was because the Aborigines were working the Mines anyway. So they now "own" the land but not the company that's still making money off their backs.
