- Tips for avoiding missiles in a jet?
Yeah. kb and mouse is better.Kobrakai wrote:

I was in a J-10 on Daqing the other day, just about to take down the F-15 when he bailed out. So I flew to the US airfield and bailed out. And I got me a F-15 with no competition and proceeded to bomb the shit out of the Yanks with it.FromTheAshes wrote:
Bail, It's what you do! I suck in a jet so whenever I get a lock I just bail out.
Rule 1 for True Whores: Never bail out. Death is preferable to giving someone else your precious vehicle.
Oh, and I used to suck in jets too. Then I did a couple of weeks' practice on single player. Now I'm mediocre!
Look, whatever. I use a stick, you use mouse and keys, and everyone's happy. Use what you like best and let's leave it at that.Ayumiz wrote:

There's no point to buying a joystick if you can fly with your KB/mouse. I tried using a joystick, and I crashed more than I did when I first learned to fly in DC. I have no desire to learn how to fly again.
If you're flying in the F35, you can't avoid missiles. Just make sure you never fly in a straight line (a direct hit from a missile is easier when you're flying straight) and have flares when you're flying over enemy territory. Take the J10 for a spin and you'll see you don't need a joystick.
Bombing is quite easy. If you're in a fighter, dive bomb your targets from about 400m up. If you're bombing horizontally, you're not going to kill an armored target at full health because your bombs don't both fall at the same time. Instead, you should switch to single bomb mode and make 2 runs at the target. To do this, drop both bombs, fly back over the airfield and get ONLY ONE BOMB. Drop this one too, then fly back over and reload both. Now you will only drop one at a time.

I don't want to touch this thread with a ten foot pole, even though I love aviator threads.
The way I avoid locks, is I go into a full loop, and about halfway through, flip upside down, taking you in the other direction, and then finish my loop and I'll either lose the other pilot, or end up behind him.
Well, I am actualy quite ok in Jets, I fly at ground level and afterburner behind trees, also to bomb, I fly upside down, that way the bombs drop straight below wherever you deployed them rather than flying off and doing there own thing. Also, when being followed, do a half-loop then turn right or left, the enemy will think you did a loop when realy you just flew away. if you KNOW your going to die, bail out and dont give the enemy pilot the satisfaction of the kill.
Actually, if you want to avoid missles, just use the Eurofighter...
Mouse is fine if you're sticking to a ground attack role, also divebombing helps. Fly up to 400+, level out, go to your target, bomb, fly up to 400+, return & reload, repeat.
I use a joystick since I use it for most of my other games as well. To avoid missles, I usually do either the Rolling Scissors into Scissors, or vice versa. But, it doesn't work so well in the F35B, 'cause that jet blows.
It really depends on WHICH jet
If in J10/MiG, a corkscrew helps, for the bombers, Su34/Su30 a scissors or yoyo helps.
If in any of the US jets, jumping out helps.

Prior to posting a new aviator thread... Please use the search key, look for a guide, read the long & informed posts, reflect, and if you still have ideas, suggestions, and the sorts that haven't been discussed then post. Likewise, prior to posting any new thread, please look, read, then add your ideas to that discussion.
As for aviation, here is one of the most recent useful guides/threads, also read the critical posts by [CANADA]_Zenmaster and a few others in this thread.
