Actually, you can still do well. Try going back to University, or college, if you have the money, and take it as slowly as possible. As for motivation, use fear, or even better, let optimism motivate you. Hell, study with friends who are good at the subject. It will help. Especially the group studying, you can study and have fun at the same time. And, you said you hate teaching jobs, right? Well, try to be an IT guy at a corporation. If you get promoted enough you'll eventually be teaching less experienced people, but not for a while. And, certain computer companies pay IT guys good money, enough to support yourself with.
