I have the VF700-cu on my X800XT, and even overclocked to 545/1090 I've never broken out of the mid-60's under extended game load.  If it can do that for my card, it will have zero problems handling that 6600GT.

I have the 6600gt 128mb and had a heating problem so I got the zalman vf700 its the only heatsink and fan that will fit onto it , I did extensive research on this and it is the ONLY one that will but it does the job, and the little blue heatsinks you get get with it NEED to go on to it but you will need to file it down to size so it will fit on..
I think im going to be getting that fan this week.
I couldn't find anyone that would fit on the 6600GT.
Thanks for all your help.

Do you have any ideas for a case fan?
The sound is basically being caused by the video card and case fan at the back, and its annoying me.
I don't really care about the airflow the fan gives in the back, just the noise.
ok move all other cards away from your graphics card cause that fan is a big boy lol, but iy is a good fan, any empty card slots you have remove all the metal slat's out(the one's you bend off) and think about fan direction make sure you have at least one fan blowing in and one blowing out but also make sure you can mae the air flow over your motherboard, tie all loose cables, using cable ties, away from your graphics card and motherboard to help airflow and go for the 180mm case fans just make sure they can fit in your case and remember you get what you paid for so dont go for cheap shit and go for ball bearing case fans.

Everything you have mentioned i've done.
It's no so much the airflow that im worried about, its the noise that im getting, nothing is wrong with the fans at all.

Im sure it would be stupid of me to ask if you have cleaned out your fan at the moment from dust and making sure no wires are hanging in the way OR the fan's voltage has been upped and its spinnig to fast making it vibrate etc.........?

Case help, this one has 2 thermaletake fans blowing onto the video and cpu.  THa Zalman fan also blows over the video cards, and I have three exhaust fan (Two in back and one on top) that takes care of the warm air.

Nothing ever gets hot, and it is a lot quiter than you think.  Only 14 fans running :-)

I want your case...omg
THATS AWESOME.

How much did all that cost?
but it is so cluttered and messy!  I guess I grew out of the rainbow of colors inside of my case.  I love my watercooled case.  I will get some pictures of this beautiful case when I Get some time.

Not stupid at all.
I've completly cleaned out my case, dusted everything inside of it, made sure no wires were hanging and i have never messed with the fans voltage at all.

you know that's a waste right? (i admit it looks awesome though)

i mean few (lets say 3 ~ 5) 120mm would make the case really cool and plus you have aftermarket fans for both gpus and cpu .. lol

i'd get water cooling..

oh yea.. loud noise of card fan has nothing to do with heat.. but you should get the aftermarket fans anyway because it cools a LOT

Its not so much the cooling im worried about, its the noise, its really annoying, i just want a quiet computer.
I know 2 of the reason why its loud is cause of the video card fan and the case fan at the back.
Im already getting the vga cooler, but im just not sure what kind of case fan to get.
Any help?

Get watercooled.  THey have gone down a TON in price (I ordered ona nd is on the way.

As far as the rainbow look.  I agree.  I out grew this case quickly.  I ordered a water cooling system and a Saprano thermaltake case (No windows).  Plain but fuctional.

The case has 14 fans, yea perhaps overkill, however I have a fan blowing on each hd, each video card, CPU, and exhaust for them all.  I have enver had a problem (Or even close) with overheating.  So I will live with the overkill.

Thermaletake fans have "Quite" fans you can buy that throw as much air as reg fans with a lot less noise.  (The orange ones in my case are the quite fans).  Just check the DB on the fans before you buy.  I am sure if you google "Quite pc fans" you will come up with a bunch.
