i have a question that i cannot find an answer to on flickr forums so it's going here..

I scanned and corrected hundreds of old photos and in the process I entered the written text from the back of the photos into the IPTC of the files to keep the photo caption information. I need to have the corrected photos printed with that info I entered on the backs. The Mogrify plugin on lightroom has the ability to export the data on the front of the photo, but what Company prints(or can print) the IPTC info on the back?

i have an assignment while we're waiting for more input;

a) take a picture of your camera (the one you think of as your "main" camera )
b) post a comment about the picture.
c) tag the picture 'bf2scamera'

i could cheat and use the camera i used to use (i handed it down to my wife) but the point is to make you aware of how you take pictures. i'll likely use the camera from my phone . . .

The managing director at IPTC itself emailed me back, "We don't know of such a service - but that doesn't necessarily mean it does
not exist. Did you try to search for it on the Web?"
bah of course i looked there(first) Guess I will handa this data situation differently. printing the iptc of all the photos on one page(a la contact sheet) and then mebbe pasting those alongside the photos? hrmm decisions.
and now shutterfly has replied

We actually used to import the "Description" field from the EFIF data but we started seeing a bunch of camera manufacturers use that for their own info. Annoying marketing stuff like "Taken with an Olympus digital camera" and that sort of thing. Most customers couldn't figure out why that was importing and a bunch were really upset when they got prints as that was on their backprint. So until we can figure out how to filter real user entered description info from the auto generated stuff put in by the cameras we have turned the system off.

Next payday I will buy the upgrade for flickr and upload a bunch of photos, amongst others a set of pictures from Auschwitz (apr 2010) etc ... that set can also be found on my facebook page until my pro flickr account is ready

Just got me a new Nikkor short lens also for my D70 ... 18-70 mm

I did, but I was too embarrassed to upload it to Flickr (it's on the discussion though)

Also, just took this while "revising". Came out pretty well, considering it was taken on that camera ^ up there. Changed the contrast and "mid tone levels" (whatever that means) ever so slightly as you can probably tell.

I really want to get pro just for a day, so that I can see where one of my photos is being used. One of them all of a sudden jumped to ~250 views a couple of months ago, whereas the others are on like ~30 maximum.

Was more the issue of uploading more than 100mb pr month or something like that ... and adding additional information to the photo etc, have taken lots of photos and flickr is a good third backup amongst other things ...

i use flickr to share and post - the wife and i have web space we're using for back-up, and a server i put together. we're using 120 gb of 1 TB i set aside for photo's . . .

You know what sucks about cameras on phones? No matter how many megapixels they squeeze on it, they try to fit it on a tiny, tiny sensor. That's why when I look at the HTC incredible images @ 8mp.. they are relatively good. But not that good.
