- Talk about irony: the Toyota Camry is more American than any "US" car
That sounds like a very real issue that could have very dangerous consequences. Why the quotation marks?Varegg wrote:
The "fix" for the accelerator problem takes about 30 minutes and involves to insert a shim to prevent the pedal to be depressed 100% thus not wearing out a bush in a collar that possibly could stuck the pedal.
Wow, I'm actually only 8 miles from that factory where they build the Camry and apparently Subarus as well. *grabs lighter* (just kidding FBI man/Dept. of Homeland Security.)
For two reasons ... the fix is so simple it's almost laughable and the other is that the chance of an incident is so close to zero one can hardly call it dangerous ... if your accelerator pedal (a mechanicle device) gets stuck you can always use the brakes - you will ALWAYS be able to brake more than the accelerator is able to accelerate ...mikkel wrote:

So yes it can potentially be dangerous hence why they fix it

toyota has slipped. fuck em. no longer on top if you ask me.
It's unusual for Toyota I agree but still they have a long way to go to be as flawed as most other brands ... the warlike headlines have damaged the brand more than the faults themselves ...11 Bravo wrote:

For the record: Toyota never had these problems when the cars was made entirely in Japan ...

Go try it, from say 50MPH.
Accelerator flat to the floor and then brakes.
Fuck Israel
It may seem so but isn't true ... they have problems because the companies they use as sub suppliers simply doesn't do a good enough job ...11 Bravo wrote:

I have tried it on several models, at different speeds and it works just like I described it ...

Let me get this straight, varegg is saying that even if you are accelerating, you can brake and will stop? How far into the lane of the semi coming to tbone me?
Don't believe loosing steering was a part of the equation ...nlsme1 wrote:
