Ok This topic might sound a bit weird but i would appreciate input

Today my special forces disc ceased to function, luckily i noticed my comp had trouble loading it up so i made a copy a couple days ago. Now I know the fact that i play bf2 quite a bit will result in the discs becoming scratched. But im careful with my game discs and always keep them in cases. But my BF2 and SF disc are pretty fucked.

So im wondering, anyone else have a fecked up battlefield disc?
Do u find the disc wears a lot quicker then other discs?

thx

It very well might be that way, they might use another material that is more easily damaged, so their profits will increase by like 0.5 percent each year or something.

i've beat up my BF2 original cd pretty badly and it still works fine.  I was actually praising EA for this the other day.  I think with these sort of things its just random.  One small scratch in the wrong place and you are screwed?

I took all of my original discs and my digital version of Special Forces and put them onto DVD as a backup.  Then I made a mini-image of the BF2 Play Disc and run it on Daemon Tools.  So that way I have my backups if the originals ever go to hell or my harddrive gets wiped (lose the install and the EA D/l copy of Special Forces) then I've still got the ability to play the game.

Just a suggestion.
Added bonus, since my little kids used to be rather destructive, I started this Original/Backup/Play Digital policy so I wouldn't have the originals lying around to be destroyed.  They don't do it anymore but I've found it's good policy to safegard your stuff against human error or material failure.

I'm always very careful with such things, but my DVD had scratches all over,  but it still kept working for 5 months, after that i couldn't play anymore and had to sent my copy to EA to get a new one.
After that i had to wait 4 months for my new copy! I was very angry at EA, but they gave me SF as a compensation so i'm very happy now.

So now i'm even more carefull now, only have my new copy 2 weeks now, but  I don't really have scratches yet.

My official BF2s DVD is broken.... it's not readable any more

I always had it in my 16x DVD player... maybe this is why there's a 1 cm crack in it :

A 16× capability is also reaching the maximum speed limit for today's disc technology.
At 16×, the speed at the edge of the disc is reaching 202 km per hour!
At faster speeds, there's a real danger that the disc will physically fragment.

Edit:typo

Yea my discs have read errors ever since I got them. I've tried three different CD roms to get them to read BF2 properly. I now rely on an image and Alcohol 120% with the driver name modified so that BF2 doesn't recognize the clone software.

Ask Jonnykill. He microwaved his BF2 disk. I think he then stuck it to the wall where it shattered.
