Problems with widescreen under Win 7

If bought a new computer and
a new monitor 23".
So i now want to play with full graphics and
in wide screen mod 1920 * 1080.
But it looks a little bit narrowed.
It looks like the picture is just stretched to the left and right side.
So what can i do?

That`s an possibility, but not the solution i am looking for

Um, try changing the screen to make it "flatter". Some screens inlarge or round the image near the edges, but that makes it go off the screen. Try using the menu button on your monitor. Go to image control and then click on either adjust horizontal or vertical. However, with your problem, you might have to go to "custom scaling", and use that. That should work.
