Two years, but yet states can't fill there budgets?

I really don't understand how the house I"m living in went from 4,500 to 6,500 in the past two years, yet my taxes are going to go up again?

Where is this money going?

Less people working(less taxes collected)... and the people that are owed something still need our money.(raise taxes for entitlements)

Public service unions have managed to receive pay increases over the past few years even though we've been in a recession. Blame your politicians for failing to negotiate better contracts. Good luck with that though since the unions more than likely funded the campaigns of those with oversight (talk about a conflict of interest).

Well they need the Pay Increases to offset the cost of living to pay for their pay increases.

Funny how that works.

It is because you still can make your house payments. They will jack it up until your state resembles the other foreclosure states.

It is a quiet coup. A onslaught on the middle class.

More people losing their homes fits their agenda.

Its funny how the real cost of living keeps increasing while the govt fudges the inflation rate.

The fact that taxes are outstripping the inflation rate proves that real inflation is much greater than we are being told.

And yes, while regular joe six pack's wages have not been keeping up with inflation for the last 10 or 12 years... unions and especially public sector unions have been able to prevent the erosion of their standards of living.

I've posted this video in the past... it describes how the govt fudges on the real inflation rate.... IMO its one of the ways the govt limits COLAs and the rise of social security without actually having to face the public and tell them that they are actually cutting the benefits. And Union contracts also get impacted because they have COLAs.... regular joe doesn't even get that

If you're wondering how come the govt wants more of your money... well the real cost of things impacts govermental budgets too... the difference is that the govt can demand your payment to cover these costs, while you are unable to recover your costs from your employer or your customers, not only that but govt data is fudged so that you don't even have the numbers to back up your argument that expenses are outstripping your income. IMO this sham is leading us into a false economy and its all unsustainable.

Its funny how the govt accounting practices mirrors the crap that happens on wall street. makes you wonder if we are going to have are own "Greece" fire.

I submit that the radical left is intentionally trashing the economy. Look at george sorros ( spelling )

That guy talks openly about intentionally destabilizing economies.

Did he not make billions ruining the brittish pound?

Did goldman sachs not make billions short selling junk mortgages and helping to snowball a meltdown?

Or, take jesse jackson and al sharpton. They are railing against Arizona. Illegal aliens take more jobs from blacks than whites.

Unsustainable pensions for unions are bankrupting city and states and who can the unions be counted on to vote for and bankroll?

Radical leftist.

Amnesty the obama way may tear this country apart because it goes against law and order and is anarchy, a favorite theme of the radical left.

Entitlement programs are insignificant compared to greater state waste.

Ok then....

This isn't about left or right, ATG.  Look, at the end of the day, it's not really about ideology.  The people with the most power in our system care about only one thing -- power.  If that means pushing people to the left, that's what will happen.  If that means pushing to the right, that happens.

The reason why there is a corporate elite running things is basically the same reason why any elite class develops.  As long as you can keep the masses divided bickering over race, religion, politics, culture, etc., then the real powers that be can do as they please.

In the end, only one socioeconomic factor matters -- class.  The rich run the show at everyone else's expense.  And I'm not talking about Joe Blow the lawyer who makes $300,000 a year.  I'm not talking about some sports superstar with a $100 million contract.  I'm not even talking about Rush Limbaugh, who makes $400 million.

The real powers that be are in the Fortune 500.  These guys will often do what they can to stay out of the public eye, because they don't really like the little people.  To them, most of us are cattle.  Can you blame them though?  Think about it.  If you had billions upon billions in assets, what would you do with all of it?   It's not like you can actually spend all of that, even if your tastes are extravagant.   So, typically, they isolate themselves.  They build up their own sheltered communities that separate them from the outside world.   Every once in a while, you'll hear about a billionaire that likes the common man, like Warren Buffett, but those guys are rare.  More often than not, people at this level of wealth tend to find most of society distasteful.

So with this isolation comes contempt.  They don't really care what becomes of you or me.  The income tax rate doesn't really matter to them, because at this level, they have so many tax loopholes that the AMT is usually the most they pay.  And besides, they can afford the best accountants that exist, so you know their filings will ensure they have the absolute minimum tax liability possible.   If, for some reason, they don't like the way a tax law is written, well...   it's not like it would be that hard to arrange a meeting with the necessary legislators.

The point is, the instability of Wall Street doesn't concern them.  They have so much money that crashes barely affect them, and if for some reason, they actually did get hurt some....  well, it's not like a bailout is that hard to pass.

They don't care if you lose or keep your house.  They might make a few moves through mortgage derivatives that put your house at risk, but if it goes wrong, oh well...  They can take a measly loss of a few hundred thousand.

See, it's not that they want you to lose your house.  They just don't give a shit either way.  To them, you're an ant...  a name on a piece of paper...  a number in an account.  That's how inconsequential people like you or me are to the powers that be.

It's not some grand conspiracy -- it's just the fact that we are utterly powerless compared to them.

This is why the only threat we ever remotely pose to these people is when we unite as one very large mass.  When the working class actually sticks together on something, things at least have a shot at changing in our favor.  But you'll notice that everytime someone manages to do that, they usually get killed -- like MLK or RFK.

Because honestly, that's the only thing they really fear.

A good post Turq, and you are right, and that is what I want.

I want a million man mob crashing their gates, burning down their ivory towers and dragging them from their mansions to meet justice.

I look at it this way: there are millions of children being doomed to poverty, empty bellies and a short lifespan. There are friends of mine and fellow countrymen who are losing a few years of life to stress because of the bullshit these guys are up to. What are the numbers, one million poor for every one billionaire? The system is out of whack and out of control.

That being said, I know I am pissing in the wind. The power elite have mastered class warfare, race baiting and controlled poverty. The people are not united in anything.

I imagine some future historian saying of todays average person on Earth.
" By the time they realized that it is too late it was too late, and they had to endure many dark days, and then they perished. "

For over 1415 days on this forum I have warned you all that there was an assault on freedom underway. That tyranny was on the menu. That this cycle would breed a dictatorship the likes of which the world has never seen.

Think about it, you from another thread;

I'll put it this way.  If Islamic terrorists ever decide to start attacking major banks, they might find a lot of Americans more willing to side with them than they'd probably expect.

Thankfully, terrorists aren't usually that smart.
You are speaking about the RAGE that is boiling in the belly of a lot of us peons. You sense it and see it now. More and more average ordinary citizens speak of their government with contempt. I hear family men saying things like they think a revolution is building. I hear retired people say that. I work with the public. It scares me what I am hearing.

Paranoia and hatred for politicians is no longer tinfoil hat stuff, it is headlines. They don't just not care about us, they mock us.

They sit there reading their own emails saying they are selling shit. I look at those young men, those Goldman Sachs monsters, silver spoon little bastards, and I want to gouge their eyeballs out.

And is this a fucking senate panel?

Dyke here humorously points out that it doesn't take much of a stretch to see who the real terrorists are.

Its sad they would do more damage to us acting like GS, than like OBL.

I agree that "Thankfully, terrorists aren't usually that smart." Or it might be something in their religion that prohibits them for usuary and other economic crimes... hmmm wow.... Al Quida is more moral than GS
sigh...we are so fucked.
