Its a good plan, suck them into cricket and for the next 20 years they'll be so busy going 'WTF, so if the ball hits the bat first and then the pad and was on a line to hit the stumps but didn't am I in or out?' they'll forget all about defending themselves from the war of terror by conventional nuclear warfare.

Yes but what if its then caught?

Or if the ball was on the trajectory to hit the stumps:
- Before it hit the bat
- After it hit the bat
- After it hit the pad

Plus I think a lot would get lost in translation so they'd be really screwed.

I'd imagine cricket would become pretty hardcore over there in Iran.

After Pakistan was defeated solidly this last summer a few of them had to appear in court to explain their defeat when they got home, or so one of my cricket loving mates told me, so I can't really think what it would be like in a country with a lot of turmoil.

lol... yousuf/younis got banned for life, whole lot of other people got suspended.

but yeah they take cricket seriously over there. tbh i hope they do well (with a caveat "in competitions not involving us" (read: test matches in july)), because their people need something to cheer about.

but yeah cricket is kinda big over there... the health of the india-pakistan relationship (probably one of the most important in the world) is directly proportional to the amount of matches they play against each other.
