Damn that must require some electricity
Not really, with both computers (one running folding) and all screens on, I'm consuming about 500W.

I really love the 1280x1024px 19-inchers. The pixels are huge, so it's really easy to browse or type on them for hours without feeling eye strain.

So now I have three identical monitors on the workbench!

Yep, a mechanical IBM from 1993. Best damn keyboard I've ever owned. TAKKA TAKKA TAKKA, BEE-ATCH!

I'm not gonna do it, they're worthless for gaymen. They're rated 8ms, but when all pixels are changing at the same time, I'd guess that escalates to about 20. I'll get around just fine with my dual X300s.

Oh, if you ever got yourself a proper keyboard, you wouldn't be going back. I love them extra much, as I learned typing on one. This exact one, as a matter of fact.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

picked up 6 x WD Caviar Green 2TB today. Those with the "advanced format" 4k sector size.

Put all of 'em in a RAID5 for a total of 10TB. Currently resyncing and copying data to the new array. Once that's done (tomorrow morning hopefully), I'll nuke my current 1TB and 1.5TB drives and make a 6x1TB RAID5 = 5TB and a 2x500GB RAID1 = 500GB out of it. Finally enough storage

Disk management. Not all my data on the old drives, but most of it.

EDIT: hmm, a 1TB drive seems to have disappeared. Weird

Aren't 1TB drives really 932GB drives?

Just bought a 1gb stick of Strontium RAM - "Singapore's No.1 Manfacturer of PC Memory" apparently. So far so good with my 3x1gb of OCZ Platinum RAM - all at 1333Mhz of course.

Not really computer tech, but still tech.

New speakers

and...

New receiver

The speakers aren't much but they're only doing rear channel duty.  My old Kenwood reciever is pre HDMI but still kicks some audio ass.  Alas, the remote pick-up thingy in the receiver took a shit years ago and I've been putting off replacing it.  Manual volume adjustment gets old.  Avatar Blu-ray is coming up in a few days, may as well upgrade now for some DTS-HD goodness.

I received this today, to build myself a much desired new HTPC:

And here's the kicker, you're not gonna believe this:

Spoiler (highlight to read):
The MSI board was DOA.

Indeed. I despise them. But this board was the only one with an S/PDIF header in the sub-70€ class.
