Hi, a short while back I discovered a need to restore my HP Pavilion dv5 1110em laptop to factory settings.  Being an avid fan of BF2 i naturally backed up the BF2 files both from Program files and Docs.  After the reinstall of the system, I copied and pasted the game files onto the "new" system.

When loading up BF2 I get to the log in screen, log in, select a server and then it crahses to desktop.  I have not had this problem before.  The game is up to date (1.5), my graphic card drivers are up to date, i run in compatability mode and as admin but still I get a crash to desktop.  In single player there is no problem....I can play it, just not multiplayer.  Whats going on here?

Probably lacking registry entries that get put in place upon a fresh install. Try reinstalling.

Download an .iso of the game and use your original CD-Key if you still have it. If not, just purchase another copy.
