I am addicted, there's no denying it. I've been smoking for over a decade and the longest I've quit during that time was six months. I'm not 'bitter and angry' about it in the slightest. I enjoy smoking. It calms me down and helps me focus and it's a great way to get five minutes to yourself every hour while at work.
What I am bitter about is sending $1800 a year to Albany and City Hall in taxes just because I happen to be a minority without a voice. It's always easy to pick on the minorities in any society if you hide behind morality.
yeah, yeah. same shit different day. these are exactly the same words i used say. i've been smoking for more that ten years too, and pretty heavily at the time i finally made a conscious effort to quit for real.
look, man, you don't have to sell me - i've been there, i know exactly what you are talking about. but the fact of the matter is this: tobacco doesn't fix any tensions it didn't create in the first place. it doesn't help you focus - it restores your focus back from abstinentia
induced by itself. it's not any better than a cup of tea at providing a way to get a coupla minutes off - it's actually much worse because it's a fucking poison. and what's more - you know all that, just as each and every addict is aware of the fuckup he's gotten himself into.
as to taxes and all that jazz - haven't a thought cross your mind that your nation might actually be interested in a healthy population? sure, there are people who would abuse the system to extort more money from you that's necessary, but, ffs, do you honestly beleave that that's the only reason? are you telling me you are a minority who have a habbit of inhaling poisonous fumes, man,
and you expect to be taken seriously? really?
if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out.
