I honestly didn't know how the tracer dart worked until now! I thought it just gave you a wallhack of sorts to see where that enemy was! lol
As soon as I read this topic I went and try it out. Got to the map that was in that first video and marked every chopper in the enemies base! Marked a few snipers too! RPGed them straight to hell!! Really fun stuff.
Can't wait to use it against that attack chopper on Port Valdez Rush.

If you're engi on Port Valdez then you should be tank whoring. Then you can just take out the chopper before it takes off

I've never seen anybody use the choppers properly. Also, what does the gunner get if he has the alternate weapon gadget? I know the pilot gets some type of powerful missile.

Gunner gets a tracer dart, that fires much faster than the hand held version. The pilot can lock onto these tracers (and any others actually) which make the chopper very effective against both inf with the cannon and vehicles with the tracer/hellfire combo.
Just a shame the maps don't allow for choppers much. All the maps are way to small and the combat isn't far enough. The only decent map is Panama Canal.Finray wrote:

I miss Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, Dragon Valley, Daqing Oil Fields (amazing map never played enough) and Fushee pass soo sosooo soooo much.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they put (a condensed version) of Wake in this game. It's kinda their flagship map.

After trying for the past week I finally tracered an attack heli in flight. Then I had a massive ping spike for a minute and when it was over I was dead. Fucking TPG.

Yeah with noone using our net (I live with 3 other people in a sharehouse) I was getting spikes from my usual 28 up to 600+. Even hit the 1,000+ mark on BF2. BC2 it would sit at 999 for up to 3 minutes at a time. Very frustrating. After this going on for most of the day I had trouble free gaming from about 8pm till I went to bed at 4:30am. Data transfer has been above 500kbps, which is much improved from my previous 300kbps.

Oh protip: Tracer darts have no bullet drop at all, gravity does not effect them in any way.

I haven't seen any bullet drop in them at all. Can hit a tank easily from a great distance without having to aim higher.
kind of retarded that a slow ass dart has no drop, but a supersonic round drops like a rock after distance.
