I'm hopefully not the only one to notice this, and I do like the karma system. But while reading topics lately it seems that people are giving karma then telling people they gave them karma. I know it's a new toy and pretty cool to let someone know that you agree with them. Put please for the love of something just limit it to giveing them the karma, don't post about it too.

it's basically like having sex with someone then just letting them know that you had sex with them.

Person one"hey we just had sex"
Person two "I know I was there"
Person one "well just letting you know that we did"
Person three from outside the bedroom window "I even know you just had sex"

It's not at all like 'sex'. If you give them +1, then they might not notice it, or have so many karma that they seriously dont care (Wonder who I'm thinking of ). I'd give -1 for the negative insight, but +1 for the funny example.

I think perhaps [like vB's rep system] once a user has reached 10 +karma they should be able to see who has karma'd them instead of everyone seeing everyone's. I also think there should be an option to enter a reason also :]

No lemony that's a bad idea then as apposed to getting thought out messages about what you feel, they'll get thought out feelings about how cool they are. The reason would be your message you put after the post

ive noticed all the people that have given me -1 are people with like -70, and its the same ones every day

edit: never mind its ONE person that gives me -1 everyday
only 3 people have a positive karma, everyone else is negative

karma is a toy like your saying and nothing else, its barely showing what people really think about you, because we got some kids here that give -1 to people for the hell of it, just to piss people off which i think its funny and kinda retarted.

I think the 'I +1'd you' is unneccesary. But sometimes if you neg someone, they might want an explanation, and its polite to do so.

Also, will there be a karma leaderboard (I doubt it somehow)?

Oh, better idea! How about, a page that lets you see who's been karma'ing and de'karmaing the most! That'll be the best way to catch trolls and spammers.

the karma system should have somthing like,

Last positive karma given by: that_one_guy
Last negetive karma given by: whiny_noob
or something like, at the bottom of the message, near the sig, it could say [username] gave +1/-1 karma to [other_username],

that might help a little. i dunno, just throwing stuff out there.
