ok eevery time i turn on my computer, chkdsk runs. it usually runs after a bad shut down, but i never have a bad shut down. the problem started when i had a bad shutdown, and after rebooting, i installed service pack 2. every since then, ive had chkdsk run everytime i turn on my computer. i dont know how to cancel it. any help is appreciated. thnaks
According to http://www.microsoft.com/resources/docu … ?mfr=true, it seems that you may have a bad sector on your hard drive. You may want to go to a command prompt and type in: chkdsk C* /fr This will run a check disk command and fix any sectors that need to be fixed on your C drive, and recovers the readable files on that section.Gladiator08 wrote:
