New to this site, its the best out there...Thx.

           Now on to the rant! I sat in the carriers AA defences (pardon the pun) had SOLID lock on incoming jet, launched all 8 missles, with NO flares, and end up missing the jet(with his butt towards me) and end up watching missles taking a 180 degree turn and nailing my TMates in the helo and plane. Totally destroyed all 2 planes, with the complimentary teamkills lighting up my screen. Hence, i was punted, this happened twice, and in 2 different servers.

          When the game starts in Wake and Im American, the first thing I usually do is grab the foreward AA, too protect the planes and Helo's taking off. Whats the point? Its Almost totally useless. Now granted, I have knocked out a few, and that makes them concentrate on me instead of my TM taking off, which is ok (taking one for the team).

          I am ranked quite high when it comes to AA, even before 1.21. Ill agree with all the whining pilots that the AA became like real AA!! and could blow any HALF decent pilot outta the air, I still had difficulty with GREAT pilots.

         I still think, that the jet pilots need to have to LAND, as in real life, as the helo pilots in the game have to do, in order to rearm.

        This may make all this furor over AA and the jets, dissapear.  Any Comments?

I reckon planes having to land to repair wouldnt be that bad, except all the noobs would line up so u tk them, just like when u take off

thats why i love F35b u just go take off straight up

but still.....what i have seen these days what idiotic Vehicule teamkiller would do to you for a fuckin jet is

All planes except the F35B : they just stand in front of you
F35B : they just blow u up or shoot u with a M95.

i think its sick, the solve most of the problems with Teamkillers is that when a vehicule is moving/or speeding up (plane) that the guy whois standing in front of you just been pushed out of the way without any damages (its unrealistic but it will solve the problem with fuckturds trying to get u booted)

the teamkiller for a specific vehicule...just let him teamkill you untill he's booted by the server

but landing is easy with planes 9 outta 10 times i,m succesfully landed , did it once on wake with as an PLA landed with a J-10 on the carrier i made 5 kills before a AA cannon blew me up

I can understand the above posts on the TK'n subject, but this post was created aboot the ineffectiveness of the bloody AA on the carriers. thx

Same happened to me MEC chopped came to carrier launched all 8 rockets all went through the chopper......

Whatever happened to using the Vulcan cannon??  I think you guys need to practice using this thing better and only fire off 2 missiles at a time so you aren't firing off with reckless abandon.  A jet only needs 3 missiles at the most to kill, if you know how to use the cannon properly you don't even need to use missiles.

I find that the AA missiles are very effective if you are looking at their exhaust and especially if they are using afterburners.

I understand what you are saying here, first its a Phalanx, not a Vulcan, but then again it could be called a gattling Gun, where it orignated. Oh well, whatever. I have knocked out planes and have had a devestating effect on helo's. What im concerned aboot is the missles.

  All im asking for is a level playing field and I'd like to see the carriers defense system go back to what it was like after 1.21. pilots wouldnt be able to the constant bomb runs that makes , particular, wake, as lopsided as it usually is.

   Please give your input!

I have the same problem.  Using the phalanx, I can usually at least damage them, but with the missiles, I have gone entire rounds without hitting an enemy plane or chopper ( hit my team mates though).  I have good locks, usually they are the only aircraft in the area, and still miss.  I have stop using the AA on the carrier, too good a way to get kicked.

i can agree only for half, you wont hit a decent j-10 pilot. EVER, even a su-34 can evade 2-3 missiles. And if it has a VERY GOOD pilot, it can evade all (i see it happen)..... but j1-10 is impossable to hit unless the pilot makes a mistake, i have had times i evaded 8 missiles in the j-10.

what brings me to this: if you shoot a locked missiles and there  are no flates against a f35, and you miss, ill laugh at you, they cannot miss cause they outturn the f35

Fly.....I can see where you are going with that. I have nailed quite a few J-10's outta the air, if they are not going warp 9, or the 34.

  When im zoning them in, I look for their speed, if its too fast I dont even bother with them and go on for a slower target. I like getting them when they are either just on a bombing run, or have just completed one.

  With the mobile AA and their defences are depleted, they are easy targets.

  And once again, this thread is primarily aboot the Missles on the Carriers in Wake, Oman and Dragon Valley.
  They are there to provide a formidable defense for the air wing that is preparing to take off and the pilots that are flying on the opposite side know they are almost totally innefective, thats why no one goes near the AA on these ships, close in with Phalanx, its deadly...other than that, its useless...well not totally, but you get what im saying.

I also would like to have the same range as the TV guided. Nothing like sitting there and then BOOM, outta know-where!!


  They could eliminate all my whining by just making those Jet pilots have to land to rearm. It would make GREAT pilots, on both sides, and make the game very even in all aspects!!

You say that you can blow away any half decent pilot out there... alright. But you are not as good against the great pilots? Of course!! Thats why they are great. You want a patch where you can kill the great pilots more easy? Its like saying: hi guys, i played this game for the first time yesterday, and i got owned by some great players who have alot of hours of gameplay!!! Its ridiculose! I didnt even get one kill! Make a patch so it will be easier for me to kill them!
I have a friend who like flying, and i think he is a great pilot, Steiketa. Has a k/d ratio of 15.25 or something like that with the airplane. You want a patch where it will be easier for you to kill him?
Its like saying, yes an another example: i have an exam tomorrow!! I didnt study for it, and its too hard for me, please give me the answers so i can pass it!
Sorry if i sound like an asshole and hostile.. not my intension. But i think that what you want is just wrong. Cant make a patch just because someone is dominating in some areas and some arent. Its quite possible to shoot down even a J-10 from the carrier.

I get what you are trying to say and no, i dont think your being an ass!! This is the very thing that the AA guys and the Pilots are yappin aboot.

    When you are in the map Wake, and if you are being arty'd and bombed on your carrier and your trying to protect your guys, buts its futile, because of the ineffectiveness of your AA missles and watching them do a 180, even with a solid LOCK, and getting punted from a server from TK'n your own guys....thats what this thread is aboot.

    Its not trying to make the AA better or more powerfull, its to make it make SENSE!! Its funny how some servers it seems easier to use the carriers AA than others. Most time its the same result, accidentally tk'n your guys and your left scratching your head.


   I  do not want a patch where any class or static defense rules....what I want to know is why the heck do I experience this only on the Carriers??

Yeah its easier to get teamkills with those aa`s on the carrier than enemy kills. I agree. If the aa got a lock, a LOCK(!!!!!!!!), on something... it should not suddenly turn and ram the closest friendly Black Hawk and/or plane... irritating. Same with the missiles on planes by the way.

so this is a good thread concerning the aa i like the aa tunguska ect... but i noticed as soon as the patch was in that i cant hit jets i mean if u try mabye youll get a hit  if there a noob a kill but with all these jet whores that know how to really shake the aa shot are almost impossible to kill before this patch 121 it was to easy they just need to devlope the game physics more or mabye we wil get a mod that does it right cuz if these big wiggers cant get it straight some one need to.. community fix our battlefield ... also i like to add as a piolt
ive noticed of you are shot at and you pull up into the sun the missles go after your team mates like  captzoltar says that shit need fixn bad fix it like th at mines so it dosent hurt team mates or something srry for the rantttnnnn

Hey TrollmeaT, there are no planes in Gator, the AA is quite effective on helos in all maps.

  And as for my spelling, it should be a hint where I'm from, eh!!!!

To be honest we pilots can fucking rape the carrier to our hearts content getting shot down maybe 1 in 60 times sharp turns without flares can still dodge all 8 of them the times I do get shot down is when i'm getting greedy and let my guard down or something. I sometimes feel sorry for the guys who continuously jump in the Essex taking the heat off the rest of the team trying to guess where i'm coming from next and they take 15-20 deaths in a row.

I logged into a wake server a while back and spawned into a bloodbath on the carrier.  We simply could not get off the ship to save our lives.  A combination of Jets, helos and APCs killed everything in sight as soon as it appeared - we were seasoned players but the carrier did not offer the defences to give us a chance.  I agree with Zolltar - the onboard AA should be more effective.  Hell, there should be TOW missles mounted on the deck too - lol. 

The bottom line is they need to keep it fair and fun -  you should have the advantage at your own spawn base.

Cheers for that, I love AD roles as I used to work in that field. It had me stuffed how a missile wouldn't lock on when the plane is only "apparently" 150m away.  Then things got better and they finally started to lock on and drop some planes.. Jumpped for joy!  Saddly this was just too good to be true and the patch gremilins have sent me back trying to master C4 and mines.

Now there may be another thread for this chat but .. bring back working missiles on the carrier ( and that fun lil island in wake).

aa can be so important to winning.  its a thankless job cause you'll get tk's and the enemy pilots will strafe the hell out of you but the team needs it.  wish there were more aa specialists out there.

I appreciate your guy's input on this subject. I think with the carrier based objectives, that the AA,  is almost useless. The phalanx is effective on the helos, but has little effect on the jets. Ive seen the lock the same time that the jet has me lined up, watching us both shooting with our 20mm, all direct hits (on both sides) and an all aluminum, maby titanium plane wipes out a static defense!!

    As I have said earlier, I do not one class, or static defense to own the battlefield, but this has start to make some sense which now, doesnt!!

   I also dont want this thread to turn into a whining thread as some pilots did after the 1.22 patch and started calling anyone in AA Noobs!!

   Im ranked under 100 in the AA catagory, and that was even before 1.22.

   This game is freakin fantastic.....lets keep it this way!!

It sounds like this new and up-coming patch may fix the friendly missle BS!!

   All I can say is I hope so, make the carrier based maps, just a little more even!!

   And no more whining threads like mine!!!!!!!!! (Im sure there will be more)

   Appreciate your guy's input......cya all on the field
