my microphone was working fine. now when i play the game and i try to talk, the little mocrophone icon appears, but it cant hear me. it doesnt turn red. is there anyway i can fix this?
Try turning on your mic
Have yo tried mic boost? Maybe you're just too soft. BF2 has an option to boost the mic, so if the problem is in BF2 then I suggest trying.

hmmm well i had this problem but when the next patch came out and i installed it , everything was fine.

Open BF2 -> Options -> Audio -> upper right corner -> check the box "mic boost" -> done.
Creative cards have a mic boost as well. Windows has it too under controll panel / sound and audio devices. Under "Devices Volume" click Advanced. THen click Advanced under mic (If it is not there click options, properties and check mic". Then you will see a mic gain boost.
The best known method to fix this is currently to go to Start -> Run, type dxdiag, go to the Audio tab and then move the Acceleration slider down to Basic.tgust5 wrote:

hi there i also have probs mith mic. i never had worked very i only heard so about 3 times since start of bf2. the voip setup works fine acept i have to enable "boost mic gain" since it is very quitly. microphone test ingame (audio settings) isnt graping any voice at all. (tryied all settings hardware/software) nothing works. viop is enabled in menu. if i hit ESC in game and dwitch to audio settings there is no cross at enabled. (ts is working fine)
i dont see the simbol in game to.
