A Heathrow Airport security guard was given a police warning after he was allegedly caught staring at images of a female colleague in a body scanner.
The 25-year-old worker was quizzed by police over alleged remarks he made to his co-worker after she entered an X-ray machine by mistake.
The incident took place at Terminal 5 on 10 March.

It is believed to be the first time an airport worker has been disciplined for abusing body scanners.
The scanners show clear outlines of passengers' anatomies.

They were introduced at Heathrow and Manchester airports to check for concealed weapons and explosives following the failed Christmas Day bomb plot by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up a jet over Detroit in the United States.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police received an allegation regarding an incident that happened at Heathrow Terminal 5 on March 10.
"A first instance harassment warning has been issued to a 25-year-old male."
So how the heck do you regulate these people, and determine the difference between them doing their job and leching?
Children will be going through these scanners presumably, seems like a mess.

damn, I was gonna post this here.
This sort of thing is going to happen. Only think we can do is fire the abusers and make screening more tight for the operators of the machine.

No. What can and should be done is banning the use of these machines.

They need to adopt more of El Al's prinicples, and ditch the stuff thats percieved as intrusive to the privacy of literally every passenger that boards a plane.  It's mind boggling.  You would probably spend a tenth of the cost of some of these high-tech deterrant devices, if that, to adopt better training and protocol for security, but I'm sure advanced, expensive scanners will be touted for the forseeable future.

There was another incident very recently - may be the same one since that article is a few days old - where the dude watching said something to the effect of "Holy fuck that girl has nice tits". I personally think people should just get over it; like I give a shit if some security guard is jacking off to an x-ray of my cock.

Fuck that. Necessary evil. When friendly fire occurs on the battelfield (someone actually dies from misuse), or somebody goes nuts and shoots their squad, you don't ban all weapons.

It happens in ANY situation.
That's a poor analogy. Weapons are necessary on a battlefield. Whole-body imagers are not necessary at airports.
