I dunno if this is really DS&T but anyway...a really interesting mini film about bottled water. I never buy bottled water anyway but it's amazing everyone who does. Enough is enough?

why not? I mean, the tap water in an airport doesn't come from underneath the airport, it probably comes from miles away. I wouldn't drink out of a puddle on the runway but if the tap water...well, it's just tap water innit?

i dunno.  pipes around airports are old.  i suspect there are many cracks.  the amout of spilled fuel and other shit that leaks around an airport into the ground is disturbing.  it may just be a wives tale but i buy into it.

It's a general misconception that bottled water is cleaner than tap water (depends on the location of the tap of course) ... big difference however is that if the bottled water make you sick you can complain to the manufactorer ...

With that said I agree with usmarine about especially airports, have heard the same before ... am in general sceptical about tap water in "old" buildings ...

mmm...no, probably not. But in most Western countries the tap water is safe to drink, like most of Europe, US and so on. the vid was basically about N. American water drinking habits so I don't think exactly the same applies where tap water is unsafe.

In some places water costs more than petrol. Possibly the biggest marketing scam known to man. I avoid bottled water unless necessary.

This is why you buy a Brita filter. And a re-usable bottle.

If I absolutely have to buy one, I always refill it. Never buy a second when a bottle is at hand.

Some bottled water just tastes better in most countries.

Risking being called a nationalistic fag, I'd rank the Norwegian tap water as some of the best I've tasted. In several other countries (rural France comes to mind), the tap water is shit so I'll buy a bottle instead.

Maybe these arguments are more applicable to the US? In Holland, I drink Spa water quite often, and that shit is fucking delicious. I had no idea it was possible to make water taste so good. Pretty sure it's not from a tap. I drink tap water in the house, but if I want a drink and I'm out I'll get a bottle. When I lived in Spain we used to only drink bottled water, although I can't remember why. I *think* it was because the water was pretty chlorinated, and so tasted like shit, but I can't really remember.

We even tap water on designer bottles and sell it to celebrities in Hollywood for an insane amount of money

Is Voss Norwegian? I had that at dinner whilst in Vegas, it was a cool bottle, but didn't taste any different to any other water.

Best water I've tasted are in those countries. If it's about water, I am just as nationalist fag as you are, of course.

Agreed completely.

DC's tap water can be funky at times, and there's always some new scandal with WASA (the waterworks for DC) so I always use a Brita filter. I ain't dead yet.

I think most people buy bottled water for the convenience, I know I do. Plus they're usually cheaper/healthier than buying some other drink, like a Coke can/bottle or some shit. Volvic is usually about 50p for a bottle in most places. Same price as a can, much cheaper than other bottle drinks usually, sometimes you get even cheaper prices from lesser known brands.

Tap Water is the shit.

Not only does it taste better but it also is fluoridated so it keeps your teeth clean.
