it's easy to become over-attentive to things like fps and 'lag' and it only ruins your own enjoyment of the game. if you can play fine without any major interruptions, then just. let. go. most fps gamers in the pc industry seem to be far too bothered about performance - and im not just talking hardware, im also talking about the market of ludicrously priced 'gaming xtreme' peripherals that will add a mouse fart's of performing advantage. at the end of the day all you're doing is subtly, subliminally persuading yourself to spend another £500 on gadgets so that you can play a game marginally faster. have fun with that...

No, some people just don't care about it all.
I don't spend loads on gaming gear I just like getting the most out of what I have, when I started gaming on PC I didn't even give any of what I wrote a thought I just played, then I get problems so I learn to sort them.
Doesn't mean I enjoy playing any less than other people, I just find it sort of a hobby.
People on forums complain about lag, complain about all sorts and seems like no one can try to help without being told to fuck off on here.

if you're a pundit on such things then you wouldnt have avoided buying the game because of 'input lag' problems- you woulda known how to diagnose and fix it, and you wouldn't have (supposedly) needed my little 'chat' to convince you that the game was okay to get.

Well you get people who spend thousands on gaming rigs, and don't know much about setting it all up to get the most out of games, surely if you play games on PC you'd want it all to be perfect? Maybe it's just me being a perfectionist, but I still try to help.
If people think I'm maybe too serious then I probably am, I do take computers seriously, doesn't mean I have no life, computers are just my hobby.
I come on these forums because I'm interested in games, I obviously don't fit in because I don't pretend to be gay, I don't act like an internet hardnut, and I don't pretend to have friends.
I have friends, and I have a life, I just see people on here as online nametags so I've got no interest in making a little group of friends online.

Anyone having trouble getting XFire to work ingame? It's detecting I'm playing it, and will say so, but I can't use any features in-game. Tried setting it to DX 10 mode, and setting DX9 mode through the config and using DX 9 mode in XFire, but nothing's working..

XFire detects me playing it, does not work in-game. CBA to mess with it or fix it though

Also, and I know I keep raving about this, but C4'ing the MComs is way too much fun. So much more fun to just say "Fuck it all!" and run in there. None of this slow push sit in the back camping with snipers bullshit.
Heh, better yet, it's fun to use only C4 on the MCom, not even arm it. Was playing on Valparaiso (jungle setting with lighthouse and docks), and at the last set obj A, I just snuck through the front lines, ran up there, threw all my C4 on the station, threw down an ammo box, waited to get more C4, blew up the ones that were already on it, then threw out a few more and detonated those. Pisses off the other team to no end when they get a message saying it's taking heat, then a few seconds later it's gone altogether

xfire has a setting in its game-detection tool that allows you to specify which rendering method you're using for the game

make sure both xfire and your bc2.exe are set to the same version of directx. otherwise xfire.exe can't inject into the game process.

Like Migs and Trots said, any of the "other" weapons. They aren't specific to any class.

And yes, the G3 is awesome. Crappy on full auto but works if in close range, but a few quick bursts on a mid- or long-range target will take them down quickly. I think I got the gold star for it the fastest. Just started using it a day or two ago and racked in the kills despite not even trying to since I was focused on rushing the stations.
