there will always be separation between recreational fishing and commercial fishing. commercial fishing needs to have laws imposed and enforced against the industry to protect species from overfishing. i have always been a proponent of making sure some of these greedy fishing boats get punished, and at our current rate, our children will never know what a tuna is because of the overfishing and practice of 'bubble netting.' these guys need the regulations asap.Turquoise wrote:

recreational fishing, on the other hand, is generally participated in by people who truly care about the resource. most of the fisherman i know are dedicated to protecting the waters they fish from exploitation by overfishing and pollution. obama needs to enlist the help of these small groups to gain real insight in the sport of fishing, and stop listening to all the hippy liberals who want to ban all fishing.
