Just recently, I partook in my favorite pastime of trolling the Australians populating the servers of modern first person shooters such as Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 4 (in this instance, it was BF2). The people there were their usual Australian selves* - obstinate, ignorant, and unwilling to believe I go to Yale. I was most struck by their futile attempts to assert that the University of Queensland was somehow superior to Yale, and their laughable notion that Australian medical science somehow surpassed that of the United States. It was one of my better trolling sessions, but it has left me with two questions I'd like answered by natives of Australia. Specifically, they are as follows:
1. Why are Australians so obdurate, even when they are blatantly wrong?
2. How could any Australian reasonably say that a government run by Kevin Rudd constitutes quality leadership.
In my unending efforts to expand my global perspective, I'd be grateful if these inquires were answered accurately and honestly.
*Does not necessarily apply to Australian posters here.
Thank you for reading and for your contributions to my intellectual expansion.
