I'm not even really doing it for college specifically... I'm doing it for myself. Like I said in the OP, I need a style for myself.

Brands: Crazy Horse, Bass, Bachrach, Bostonian, Clairborne, Express Design Studio (Express for Men stores)
Honestly my favorite store in the world is Bachrach. Strictly a men's clothing store. If you find one in a mall, or where you are going, go check it out. And since you have so much money, buy a pimp ass suit. They have tons of options, and they custom size and fit for you. Plus they have stuff on sale a lot. You can get a nice suit, shoes, matching belt, tie and dress shirts. DOIT.

to each his own, but i'd wear the comfiest thing I can while still looking decent instead of trying to look sharp
Bevo does have a point. Wearing a sweater, and collared shirt dress shoes, etc isn't THAT comfortable, but it depends on what you have planned to do.
As the old adage goes, "Dress for success"

indeed, i'd prefer to look nice going out to eat or whatever, however I do live in austin where you can wear a short and a tshirt to the fanciest restaurants.Mr.Dooomed wrote:

unless you're doing an easy major you'll be spending a lot of time studying/working in your dorm/apartment/???. where comfort > all. there are times where looking sharp is a good idea, but no need to renovate your entire wardrobe
buy a few nice shirts and slacks and a few shoes if you want, but $2500 is past overboard
$2500's just the limit. Never said I was spending that much. I'd certainly prefer not to.
Shirt, Dark jeans possibly and blazer.

Invest the money.

I'd recommend the hipster looks, to be honest - you'd probably fit in with the vast majority of male college students inhabiting Manhattan.

Call a (girl)friend, ask her to go shopping with you. Repeat every couple of months.

Fuck dawg just open your eyes and look. What are people wearing??? Do you live near a mall? If so, go there, and find the store that has the most teen-vibe. Go in and look at what the manicans and poster models are wearing.
Then make a waredrobe like it
you dont gotta spend 200% more in NYC. take the clothes to nyc.
