What game, from 200 years ago?

Capitalism may be slavery in essence, but not in practice.

Global capitalism really does resemble slavery.

When you have a wealthier nation influence a poorer one to get cheap labor and cheap resources, they can essentially treat the people there as slaves.

Of course, it is a relative thing.  Sadly, no matter how China treats Africans, more often than not, they're still providing better jobs for them than they would have otherwise.

It's just that, from our perspective, we would consider it slavery, because our standard of living is so much better.

This is essential to global capitalism because of the variance in quality of life throughout the world.

Although ironically, global capitalism -- if allowed to continue without hindrances -- will level out standard of living across the board, as the developing world begins to catch up with the developed, but lagging world.

In short, you and I will see a gradual fall in quality of life as the developing world slowly gets better.
