Hey, thanks for the help in advance!

I am having issues with the patches not taking effect. The patches have downloaded fully, and appear to install/patch fully.

Upon entering game i am still at version 1.1.29.

Has anyone heard of or had this issue? If so, i would greatly appreciate hints/tips on how to resolve this.

I was pleasantly supprised to not have any other installing issues, as i tried on vista 64 bit and had nightmares for a month.

New computer,

Gateway fx
duo core p8700
geforce 260 1 gig ddr3
4gig ram
Windows 7 premium

*everything (patches and game) is ran compatable with win xp SP3 and perm admin*

There's a specific order you have to install shit in.

Install BF2
Install 1.41
Install 1.5 (Make sure it's not the Beta).

If you're trying to do Special Forces too there's even more steps, but I've forgotten them.

friend, i realise there is an order, im not a noob so please dont cuss me.

the point i am trying to make is that when i run the patch it does not chage the game version......

he didnt cuss at you. he was referring to the game. can you join servers? do you accumulate stats? if so, then you have the proper patch. don't worry about anything else.

Also, the game is not seeming to go true full screen no matter what res i put it on i have a 2 inch black border on either side of my screen.

no, cant get a list of servs, other than 3-4 no staters, and when game launches it says "no play now servers could be found"

i realy couldnt tell if he was or wasnt....this damn game have given millions headaches LOL

You might just need to completely uninstall and re-install at this point. Be sure to delete your folder in My Documents when/if you do.

(BTW, this is our newest forum member so please try and be helpful and nice)

I'd suggest re-patching from the beginning, that is installing 1.41 completely and then 1.5. And maybe a full install if that doesnt work. Also, what CD of BF2 do you have? The Complete Collection?

The last digits should be .802 once the patching is completed. 1.41's code is .709

Lastly, never, EVER use the play now option. It takes aaaaaaaaageeeeeeees to get into a game, and most of the time will toss you in an empty server.

thanks splinter LOL ya i know it does that, i turned it off just one of those helpfull EA things to let ya know your screwed!!! *vomit*

gonna have to try a full reinstall ii guess....*sigh*
