This isn't true. George Bush's brother owned the company that contracted out some security surveillance to the towers, but the company that controlled security for the whole area wasn't a company... it was the New York Port Authority. They sold the towers and responsibility for security to a private Manhattan land developer... and I believe that took place on Sept. 10th...

The man who took over building security the day the buildings were hit was John Oneill... an ex-FBI Agent. He didn't have political fallout with Bush (Bush probably didn't ever know him), but rather had fallout within the FBI and with Director Louis Freeh. The PBS Frontline special "The Man who knew" is on their website and explains the whole thing. The man was a hero, and to lump him into some conspiracy theory is a real insult to his legacy.

It just goes to show that weird crap can happen, but all you have to do is twist it slightly and all of a sudden it's a conspiracy... this isn't the only 9/11 conspiracy-theory point that's been 'cherry-picked' and tweaked until it's a lie... it's just real easy to nail.

Its not true goddamit, George bush isn't that stupid. theres another video somewhere saying that a plane didn't hit the pentagon. and that was a lie becasue u could hear a recording of hitler speaking the background. most of it is just to stir up trouble.

As a so-called British Hater (I believe our troops fought in the Gulf War and the sequel, so not sure how that works, you break a UN sanction "allegedly" and we join you. Way to show respect for your allies) I can't talk a lot about how 9/11 affected me, I know I was at work, and we all huddled around the radio to try and find out what was happening.

Alot of things don't make sense about the whole 9/11 saga, but one thing does, way too many people lost their lives, some of them for nothing WE understand, and some of them doing what they could to help. Some just doesn't fully express the life lost, you'll have to forgive me for not trying to hunt down accurate figures.

As to the reasons, and the conspiracies, and the information blackout that persists, I believe that I can do no better than quote a man who said what he wanted with very little fear of reprisal:

I've seen that video, and there are compelling arguments they shed light on....BUUUT, they do not answer many of the questions they ask throughout the movie.  I think at the very least, the government knew about it, knew it was going to happen, and did nothing because of the opportunities it would provide.  Yes, I am saying I think the government knew something like the events on 9/11/01 were going to happen, and stood pat to further their own self interests.

I read you.  At the same time, I find it hard not to believe that a bunch of wealthy people are in cahoots with each other to stay wealthy and in control.  I'm not saying that I believe they meet in a back room, spank each other with paddles and pee on the crucifix, but I think there is definitely some sort of collabaration between those with wealth/power.

I have no doubt the rich and powerful cavort with each other and screw over the little guy. I just don't think they take it to the extremes as killing thousands of innocents. And I also don't believe it is limited to evil neo-con's and their minions. You've got the rich and powerful on both sides clamoring to hold on to whatever they perceive as "power".
