Maybe you have a corrupt patch file. After reinstalling everything ( Even windows ) then you can assume you have a broken patch. I had a broken patch, and that patch that I later patched the patch with, fixed the patch where it was broken.

But seriously. I really did have a corrupt patch. Try downloading the full patch from the most valid server there is ( go to www.eaplay.com ) and follow that if you dare.

I can't help you more than :
1. Get the new patch
2. Reinstall Windows
You have already uninstalled and reinstalled everything know to man except maybe windows, so give it a shot.

click the following:
start here:Graphics Driver --> Geforce and TNT2 --> "your OS like WinXP or else"

As I´ve said, there is no special driver for your FX 5500, these drivers are used by all cards from geforce2, 3, 4, FX, 6 and 7-Series.

it isn't difficult, go to nvidia.com -> download drivers -> select graphics driver -> geforce & tnt2 -> your operating system (assuming windows xp) then download.  If you can download a patch for bf2 you should be able to find drivers etc for your hardware.

I downloaded IT ( the directX , the video driver , all what you said ) but still don`t work ( ;(( i can`t play this game cause the game masters can`t do a good game !! that`s their problem...but even of this ..they could try to help me ! i was wrong when i said that this game is cool on internet ( but ..now I  can`t play even at single player ( (

why dont you uninstall BF2, then install it again, after that, install the 1.22 patch and stop using the damn smileys.

You might wanna try manually uninstalling the game before a clean install, then install bf2 followed by patch 1.22 (don't install SF or EF before testing). Make sure to defrag before installing. Worked for me.

To delete the save files:

Open My Documents.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.

To delete the game files (in the default location):

Open My Computer.
Open the C drive.
Open the Program Files folder.
Open the EA GAMES folder.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
Close all open windows.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
To edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2:

Click on the Start button.
Click on Run.
Type regedit in the text field.
Click File and then choose Export.
Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All.
Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window.
Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click the plus sign next to Software.
Click the plus sign next to DICE.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
Click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts.
Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2 folders.
Click the plus sign next to Microsoft.
Click the plus sign next to Windows.
Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion.
Click the plus sign next to Uninstall.
Right-click on the key named {04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B} andchoose Delete.
A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
Close the WindowsRegistry Editor.
Battlefield 2 is now completely removed from your system.

What settings do you run bf on? With that spec you mgiht wanna try the lowest possible settings to see if that's your problem.

MAn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT me !!! FIRST I HAD BATTLEFIELD 2 V 1.21 AND I DIDN`T  HAD ANY PROBLEM!!! I PLAYED ON 800 X 640 GRAPHIC AND IT WAS COOL ! THE PROBLEM IS ..AFTER WHAT I INSTALL V.122 THE GAME DOESEN`T STARTS!!!!!! (( BF2.EXE DOESEN`T START ))

Try the manual uninstall in my previous post. Might be some bad files/registry values left over that you need to manually delete. I know it will take a while, it took me over 8 hours to fix a simualr problem, but will be worth it in the end. Hope this helps. Make sure to use the full patch not incremental and download it via fileplanet or EA downloader to make sure it's not a currupt file.

I uninstalled the game ! i did all what was there , i formated my Hard Disk , but still don`t work! (
I need to play v 1.3 cause this will work !! I am sure!!!
